Heritage Christian School: Old and New

Heritage Christian School: Old and New

All of us, at one time or another, have been surprised.  On occasion, we have even been shocked.  But it is challenging to describe how radical the changes in our own world have been over the last decade, and how those changes leave us feeling.  Some of them have had wonderful implications.  Advances in technology, communication, medicine, exploration, and many others leave us almost speechless with wonder and amazement.  At the same time, some of the shifts in our society, especially right here in the United States of America, leave us aghast at how morally staggering they are.  If we had something like a Richter scale for the moral earthquakes that have taken place in recent years, they would register somewhere in the range of 8 or 9.

What does all of that have to do with Heritage Christian School?  Two things come readily to mind:  First, there are some things about HCS that must never change, no matter what changes come down the pike to us in our culture.  The moral compass of HCS is regulated by the Word of God, which never changes.  We are determined, by the grace of God, to maintain that moral bearing, come what may, so that Heritage Christian School will always be a safe place for the nurturing and teaching of our children.

Secondly, we want to embrace the changes that will better equip us to fulfill our mission to “provide an education for the whole child, built on the unchanging principles of the Word of God and focused on the core academic subjects in such a way that our students will become lifelong learners under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.”   In part, that means taking advantage of at least some of the technology available to us to enhance what we do here at HCS.  One of the ways that is taking shape is our brand new web site:  www.heritagechristianonline.com   We hope you’ll visit our new site often to stay up to date on news and events.  Explore all the little nooks and crannies and let us know what you think.   We’d love to hear from you.  There’s a place where you can contact us via email, so we look forward to hearing from you.

May God keep us all true to the principles of His Word in the midst of a culture gone crazy, and may He enable us to use all the tools we can to serve Him in this strategic cause of education.
